Up for bid with no reserve is my original paint ‘62 Beryl green beetle with Carback tent rooftop camper also sold new from a vw dealership.
Beryl green was only offered from ‘61-63 and they are very unique with having many color matched items from the factory. These include green running boards, fender beading, floor mats, e brake lever, shifter etc. These items are all present on this car and makes this beetle a very special unique beetle in itself. I purchased the car from Washington state hence the dry condition and beautiful paint. The carbak tent was sold new at a vw dealership in High Point, Nc in the 60’s. Such a cool combination together I thought it would be nice to offer the pair for sale together
Body: As you can see she is pretty much rust free and wearing its original paint with just enough sweat to really give that look so many prefer these days. Originals floors, channels etc. even the battery tray is perfect.
Interior: All original in there as well, including headliner and just really has that vintage feel you dream of in a beetle.
Mechanical: The car had been sitting for a few years before my ownership. I have gone through the brakes and a full mechanical tune up. She runs and drives amazing. Unfortunately I have driven very little hence why I am selling. I’m sure there are little things that need to be addressed such as the horn And possibly some of the lights. I’ve enjoyed her as a part of my collection but with too many other classics to maintain she just needs to go to someone who will have the room and energy to cherish her and continue making her better bit by bit.
Carbak tent: This past weekend was the first time the tent had ever actually been camped in! I’m glad I got to at least camp in it once before letting her go. It’s really quite simple to set up and sleeps 2 adults comfortably. All the canvas is in great condition especially considering it’s 50 plus years old. This is a true NO RESERVE auction, whatever you guys bid is probably what she’s worth so I’ll go with it. I am adding 2 walk around videos of the car that will hopefully answer a lot of questions. Otherwise feel free to call/text 843 360 9871 anytime. The car is located inside my shop in Danville, Va. You are welcome to view at any time before the end of auction. 0 feedback buyers please contact me before bidding. Thanks!
