Car description |

This is a nice running and driving 1972 Super Beetle. I purchased it from the daughter of the long term owner, who meticulously maintained this car. I purchased with the intention/hope that my wife might like to own and drive a classic car of her own. Unfortunately, after much effort and expense to freshen it up, she said no. Cars are my hobby, not hers. I'm not a Beetle - guy, so here we are.
The body is straight and nice. Paint is old and shows some wear, but is very presentable. The photos represent the car well in my opinion. This is also a very solid car. It is not rotten. The pan is very nice and shows no evidence of patch panels. Extremely solid and honest little bug. It is the definition of a great "driver" and in my opinion, it is nicer than most that fall into that category. Interior is very intact with some wear here and there.
When I purchased this car, it had sat for quite a few years due to the previous owner's health issues. It came to me with the typical story of having a somewhat recently rebuilt engine. I took it with a grain of salt, but during the process of freshening this car up, I came to believe that. I based this on the way the head and valvetrain looked when the valve covers were removed. Speaking of which, here is a list of the things that were done to the car when I got it, all of the following I paid a professional repair shop to perform:
-Complete fuel system flush-Carburetor rebuild-Tune up-Valve adjust-Valve cover gaskets-Engine oil change-Transmission fluid change-All new brake hydraulics: Hoses, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, etc.-Complete brake system flush-Brake shoes cleaned, lubricated and properly adjusted-Battery-Comprehensive inspection of vehicle
There may be a few other small things I'm forgetting, but the general theme is basically that I had them do whatever they recommended based off of the age of the vehicle, the amount of time it had sat, and the "end goal" which was to have a reliable and safe car for my wife to drive. It fires and runs as it should and drives very well.
This really is a great little Super Beetle that will make someone a fun car to drive and tinker on. I am selling it with the Arkansas title it came to me with, signed off by the previous owner to his daughter, with a bill of sale from her.
The car is located near Portland, Oregon.
