KARMANN GHIA COUPÉ

Affectionately known as "Blinky," this sporty little car has been well loved and cared for as a daily driver. History & service records date back to 1993, with car having lived in New Mexico, Colorado, & Minnesota, (where it is currently registered, licensed, & insured.)

Blinky runs nice & looks nice. It is immediately drive-able for a little summer fun, or ready for an all-out restoration. The goal of any past maintenance/repairs has always been to make the car work well, & look nice. An accurate restoration has never been attempted.

That said, I believe the car to be pretty much original. In checking chassis & engine numbers in preparation for this listing, it appears the chassis was produced in July 1971, & the engine number seems to indicate 1972. (This is according to online reference for Karmann Ghias via the internet.)

Specs on the car (From the original owner's manual, which is of course included in the sale, along with all other documentation & a book on air-cooled VW maintenance):

· Model 14 Coupe, with 4 Cylinder, Air cooled 1600CC Engine

· 4-Speed Manual Transmission

· 12 Volt Electrical System

Headlights, Turn Signals, Tail Lights, Brake Lights, Emergency Flashers, Windshield wipers are all in working order. Many of the indicators on the dash however, do not work. This includes Speedometer, gas gauge, clock, odometer, blinker indicators (hence the name "Blinky" for it being easy to forget to turn off the turn signals) etc. Mileage is more than listed due to odometer not working.

Mechanically, the car starts right up & runs without issue, however I believe for long term use, it should have its floor pans replaced, & have a thorough check of brakes and anything else subject to rust damage. In addition, there are dents that have been filled with body filler, dings in the bumpers, some tears in the (original) brown leather seats, non-original carpeting, and a disconnected horn. The door locks also seem to be opposite each other, with one side pushing in to lock, and the other pulling out to lock. And then there's the tile-mosaic dash... non-standard/original, but I'm willing to guess probably one-of-a-kind. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have. We should communicate through Ebay for both of our safety.

Car is located in Grand Rapids, MN and transaction will require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 72 hours of auction close, and cash in person required at pick up or delivery. Full payment must be completed within seven business days of Auction end, with delivery/pickup and title hand-over to occur at the same time as remaining cash payment.

Pickup/delivery can be arranged by buyer, or I can arrange trailer delivery if it is within state (or not far out of state), for a pre-negotiated (& prepaid/non-refundable) fee that we find agreeable to both of us.

Car is listed for sale elsewhere, so I reserve the right to end this auction early if it sells locally via other means.

Thanks for your time & interest.
