Car description |
---|
I really hate to sell my dream car, kids, middle age and lack of time space and fun in my life demand it, I have lavished love and parts on it for the last seven years of ownership please don't buy it.
Overview:
An original 1964 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible Californian registered metallic grey with all the chrome looking amazing and five spoke Porsche alloys.
A 1941cc engine with twin 40 weber's and all the Empi kit, new rockers, external oil cooler with thermometer fan switch gear. Front disc brakes with new shocks all round. Drives great and eats freeways but also can stop! Whole car re-wired and a 90 amp alternator to power a 900 watt 5 channel amplifier with a massive 10" sub woofer built under the rear seat, blue tooth head unit connects to your phone with a magnetic holder under the dash next to the single button controller with optional USB charger port fitted. Beautiful trim on seats and under the hood with Ghia stitched in, hidden speaker panels so no obvious stereo apart from the original Blaupunkt radio in dash as a vintage touch. All gauges original and work. All keys work. It is a beauty so check the tech spec below and my youtube channel has it running, and the stereo pumping, its so loud the car next to you shakes, it's a BEAST in classic clothing. If you love it as much as I have, then your in for a great ride.

Overview of faults:
I used to show the car at my club events (Golden gate VW owners Club https://www.ggcvvwca.org/) but it needs a re-spray to be mint condition again, normal people would not see it but all the small faults would go with a great paint job again. It has some stone chips, fuel filter came lose meant a 4 second fire in 2014 but an engine rebuild by La Vere's in Concord and lid re-spray, but a paint bubble came up on the body I never got to fix. Likewise the Hood came up at low speed and so not "perfect" anymore. The chrome is in very good condition the porsche 5 spoke daisy cutters are good but showing their age now. The Cloth top was new by the owner before me but he closed it with the snap fits closed on one side so a small tear on the side which both of us ignored, the inside headliner is oil spotted common to convertibles in cali summer temperatures. The window seal on the driver side needs replacing one day as the clips are weak. Its got a solid floor pan and runners, both myself and the previous owner are in California and its always been garaged, rust is cosmetic in tiny places.
Disclamer
All the paperwork, all the receipts, clean logbook, sold as is, obviously it's a classic, pick up or send transporter, paypal, wire, cash bankers draft.
I have it listed with other VW specialists/clubs locally so please contact me if you want it as it may have to be delisted, (but this will be more than 12hrs before the end.)
