NEW RAGTOP, LATE MODEL ENGINE RUNS STRONG AND FAST, NEW GLASS AND WEATHERSTRIP, SUPER FUN DRIVER! Its my joy to own my first ragtop Beetle. Ive had a lot of Bugs before but never a ragtop, and this one is super fun to drive! Take a look at the video inspection, pictures, and details below, then call Erick at 678-908-6006.
Cosmetic
  • Paint/Body: Built May 1962. Body is overall straight but has a few imperfections here and there. Rust spots along the bottom inch of the left and right body rocker sides. It appears that a long time ago the car was involved in a front end collision. New German front fenders and bonnet all line up straight. Inner spare tire well has dents on both sides but spare fits perfect. Paint is nice and shiny and a sharp 10-footer. A few little dings on the drivers rear fender.
  • Interior: Nice interior with new door panels and carpet kit. Dash is in great shape. Seats are a little older but no rips or tears and easily re-padded. Headliner is older and shows its age, but still presentable.
  • Glass/Windows: All of the glass is new with new weatherstripping. Windows roll up and down easily, and rear pop-outs are awesome!
  • Trunk: Trunk space is very clean, original fuel tank and cap, nice trunk mat, and spare tire with hub cap.
  • Undercarriage: Rust hole in the spare tire well. One rust hole passenger side floor pan has a steel patch, and easily repaired for about $400 parts and labor. The rest of the floor pan is in great original condition and rockers are rust free, too.
  • Wheels/Tires: Tires have good tread, wheels fresh paint and new hubcaps and beauty rings.
Mechanical
  • Drivetrain: Late model 1600 starts easily and runs strong. Transmission shifts through all the gears smoothly and has a new clutch. This car is fun to drive and will do highway speeds easily. Steers very straight down the road.
  • Lights/Electrical: Headlights, brake lights, turn signals and dash light are all working. Windshield wipers are not hooked up.
  • Brakes: Brakes stops straight and strong. Emergency brake is strong, but the spring is missing to engage.
This is a very affordable early rag-top that is fun to drive as is, and has a few little projects that could be done to make a really nice car. Watch the video then call Erick at 678-908-6006.
