Car description |

This 1967 VW Beetle is absolutely gorgeous. 1967 is the last year of the old fashioned bumper and the first year of 12 volts. The 1967 model had a number of one-year features and I believe this car has all of them. It also has some factory add-ons that one rarely sees, such as opening rear side windows, and a smooth operating sliding sunroof.
It is almost totally stock with only a few items that differ. The steering wheel is an upgrade but I have what may be an original black steering wheel. I thought the originals were all cream colored, so I could be wrong about that. I added a cup holder that uses the cigarette tray to slide in to. I'm told the 1600cc engine is completely stock except for the spare parts that have been used over the years for repair or normal maintenance.
Recent maintenance work includes front wheel alignment, new ball joints, new carburetor, new steering damper, new heater hose, new fuel hose.
For a 51 year old car I'm pretty sure there are a few details that are not exactly the same as they were in 1967 but I'm not enough of a Bug expert to know what they are.
