1956 Volkswagen oval ragtop for sale. Running, driving, and stopping
I bought this car from the previous owner about 1 month ago out of Georgia. I bought it to compare another 56' I had just finished as a radical custom at the Syracuse Nationals. I drove the car. It drives great. I love the car and want to keep it but other custom projects are forcing this sale (I don't dare cut this one up!). Don't miss out on this reasonably priced classic. Restored examples are going for twice my reserve and will be approaching triple that amount I have no doubt. The Type 2s are becoming untouchable and I believe these cars will be the next big hit.
Rebuilt 1835 long block engine by local shopDisc brakes up frontNarrowed and adjustable front beamChrome 5 spoke wheelsNew Front bumper bladeNew Rear bumperNew running boardsNew window rubberNew axle bootsRemovable rear apronGerman Metal FendersFiberglass W decklid3 tab hood
Scat Front seats need upholsteryHeadliner needs tightening up or redoneNot a show car has some scratches imperfections here and there. Front clip has been replaced.Mileage unknown.
Heater channels, pans, doors, rust free. Hard to believe its a 61 year old vehicle.
Vehicle does not have a title, NY is a bill of sale only State on classic cars of this age. Currently registered and insured in my name. You can take the bill of sale and current registration to your State DMV for registration or title. Please check with your local DMV if you aren't aware of the rules in your state.
Great oval ragtop with original pan.

To clarify, it does not have a title, but instead a NYS registration that acts as a title. New York State didn't have titles prior to 1973.
