1988 Volkswagen Scirocco 16-Valve Coupe 2-Door 1.8L

Offered is a 1988 VW Scirocco. I have a clear Connecticut title in hand from 2003. I drove the car briefly and then put the car in storage and went on to other pursuits. It is not registered at the present time. I just drove the car briefly and the engine is mechanically fine, ith a 5-speed transmission. The brakes work well. Didn't try the air conditioning, ut would image it needs a recharge. The tires are old, ut hold air. The factory paint overall looks quite good, ith some minor chips and scratches. The interior is not torn or shabby.....and can be seen in one of the pictures. The Scirocco could stand a good cleaning and a coat of wax. The mileage when I purchased the car was 109,756. Present mileage is 109,857.

Just opened the sun roof for the first time in a long time.....it opens but it is cranky and needs lubrication. You get the feeling you could break the crank if you weren't careful. The dash is not cracked. However, omeone glued a strip of velcro on top, hich can be seen in one of the images. Did not try to remove it. The power steering works well. The clear coat on the wheels is oxidizing through in places, nd they would need to be re-coated. What we have got here is a nice solid, echanically sound car, ut one that needs a lot of TLC and cleaning. I bought the car 15 years because of my fascination with the twin-cam engine. Always planned to detail it, rive it. Am in my 70's and it's not going to happen!!
