Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this extremely nice TR3A in an unusual but original factory color scheme. This car was recently purchased from it's New York seller who had the car professionally, frame-off, quality restored approximately 15 years ago using all of the right replacement parts and correct materials. Most parts were purchased from the Roadster Factory with a very careful eye towards proper fit and originality. The Triumph was put into storage in 2013 due to a small fuel leak and has not been in use since. The body and paintwork on this car are very good to excellent. Panel fit is really super for a Triumph TR3A of this period, with no evidence of any accidents. Hood, trunk and doors all fit very well with nice gapping all around, a rarity on these early cars. There are some usual, minor paint touch-ups from normal use but it's quality paintwork is holding up extremely well, with only some slight shrinkage and no signs of any bubbling. It's surely the correct shade of Triumph Racing Green for the era. Chromework is a mix of excellent original items and new quality replacements. A new rubber kit has been fitted. The windshield is in very nice condition. The car's red leather interior is exceptional, along with all of it's black, matching, correct crush-grain vinyl weather equipment that is fitted to the car really well. It appears to have been sourced from the Roadster Factory at great expense. It's just the right brightness of red that these early Triumph interiors had and really looks perfect, down to it's factory front rubber floormats, matching red loop carpet, color-coded seat belts, and rubber shift knob. The gauges and knobs all look crisp and appear to have been rebuilt. The car's highly detailed engine bay looks superb and correct showing it's correct brass body tags, VIN plate, correctly sequenced (and most likely matching) TR3A engine and correct air cleaners. The car's undercarriage is fairly clean and dry. The body was removed from the frame and everything underneath has been attended to, showing new brake lines, exhaust system, rebuilt suspension, etc. It shows just minimal road use since the car's restoration. Fitted tires are quality Michelin XZX 165x15 radial tires. We are currently servicing this nice car and will be posting a running driving video shortly.Overall, a very high quality restored Triumph TR3A Roadster that has mellowed slightly over the last few years, and has been driven enough miles to be nicely sorted out. This seldom seen and attractive factory original color scheme is a rare find. I doubt you will find another one like it on the market. This lovely car is ready to be enjoyed for the season.
