Car description

Up for auction is my friends ultra rare 1968 Triumph TR 250. The Triumph TR 250 combines the graceful looks / lines of the TR4 with the performance of the TR6 drive train. This car is even rarer as she is a numbers matching car with factory overdrive and 60 spoke wire wheels. When restored these Triumph TR 250 cars bring in the mid 30's and those don't have overdrive. So with this being a NO RESERVE auction you can't go wrong on this one. I will make every effort to detail everything I know about the car so all interested will be fully informed prior to bidding. Make no mistake she is selling to the highest bidder. Heritage: This a very rare car with only 8484 TR 250 cars built over a 15 month period. What makes her even more rare is she is a numbers matching car and came from the factory with an overdrive transmission and 60 spoke wire wheels. If you know these cars than you'll know the meaning / importance of the following numbers: Commission date April 1968. Vin number CD 4462 LO, Engine number CC 4600 E, Body Tag number 4113 CC. Paint code is #56 Royal Blue and interior trim code #11 Black. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION SO YOUR BIDDING TO WIN THE CAR !! Engine: Previous owner stated that the engine and transmission where gone through, carburetors rebuilt and new clutch kit was installed as well. I have no documentation of the work but visual inspection of the drive train has clear indications that work has been performed. Car was last run about 20 months ago when the work was performed using an external fuel cell. One should count on the car needing hydraulics, fuel lines, wiring and other thing to get her back on the road. Just what I know about the car ( wish I knew more ). Overdrive: Yes this car sports the sought after overdrive transmission as indicated in the cars Vin number but since I've never driven her I can't say how it preforms. Exterior:The car shows well in the photos and presents herself well in person but does need restoration as you can see in the photos. Has all the correct Triumph TR 250 badges present. New trunk hinges and trunk lock with new keys. Gauges: All gauges are correct "Smith". Interior: As seen in the photos it does need to be completed. You can see the New dash face has been installed and has all the correct "Smith" gauges which have been restored to like new condition. Overall good seats and door panels. New transmission tunnel / cover has been installed as well. Extras: Car comes with many extra parts in boxes / bins and in the trunk. Don't know what all is there but it quite a bit off stuff. Soft Top: Soft top frame only as seen in the photos. Trunk: The trunk is solid as seen in the photo. Underbody: The under body is in very good condition as seen in the photos. Don't see many this solid out there. Shipping:If you need to have the car shipped to your location here in the states you can get a fast and free online quote from Able Auto Transport at:http://www.ableautotransport.com/ Overseas Bidders:Yes the auction is open to overseas bidders and if you need to ship overseas try Schumacher Cargo Logisticsshipping for fast free quotes ( http://www.schumachercargo.com/ ). I have all the paperwork needed for overseas transport.
In Closing: The above description is my observations / opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding. Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding. If I missed anything it was not my intention. Not an expert and trying to describe her as fair and accurate as possible. I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see her ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. She's a well presented car but you should expect a 51 year old project when she arrives at your home. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the car I'm selling her as in "as is" condition and mileage exempt. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end. No exceptions on sending the required $500 deposit.
