Car description

Here's a very nice early straight axle TR4 CT880L I have owned twice since the early 1990's . At that time it underwent a body on restoration and received new floor panels and rockers, and other OE panels / fenders I found at a Triumph scrap yard in Arizona. There is no rust on this car anywhere. The rear shocks were replaced with tubular and I installed a rebuilt overdrive gear box. Along the way an alternator and gear reduction starter were added as they became necessary. A stainless steel exhaust system was also added .This car has the original bumpers and steel top trim which were re chromed and still look great.
The car was originally red so I kept it that way . The interior and top still look nice and it has the original early TR4- TR3b seats that are somewhat difficult to find . It has older but good radial tires on the original steel wheels with cloisonne hub cap badges.
It is very original and has the original moto, convex glass gauges, even the original owners manual albeit chewed on a bit by a ratone. Everything works on the car and it has been extremely reliable for many years . I recently replaced the SUH6 carbs with Zenith Stromburg as the SU's became problematic running rich even after a pro rebuild years ago. The original SU's are included with the car just in case you are a glutton for punishment :)
After sitting for extended periods of time or when starting cold with the choke on, the car will smoke a bit when you rev it up, this ceases all but completely after it warms up . Compression reads 155 160 155 165. The car runs strong for a 4 cylinder and will run on the interstate if that appeals to you. There is a small scuff and ding on the bonnet that I never got around to addressing I will try to show in the pictures. Also there is a small oil leak coming from I believe the timing cover that I never got the enthusiasm to fix, it seems like it only leaks when the motor is running. Other than a couple of squeaks and rattles that's about it .This car is ready to be enjoyed as is and at a fraction of the cost and frustration of enduring a restoration project.I will add more pictures in a day or 2 .
I am currently in the midst of a MGB - Rover V8 conversion and in need of funds and garage space to continue the project.
Car will be available for inspection by appointment .
