The previous owner of this car had the body off the frame about 10 years ago and did much work to the brakes, suspension and running gear. All brake lines were replaced as well as clutch and brake master cylinders. The frame was stripped and painted and the car was reassembled with many new frame and suspension parts. The restoration stopped there. The owner intended to repaint the body but was having too much fun driving the car and never got around to it. I bought it several years ago and have been driving it ever since. The body is solid with solid floors. There is a bit of rust on a valance. and some spots of rust by the rockers, but very minor. It is one of the best unrestored Spitfire bodies I have seen. Of course the paint is original and faded, about a 4 out of 10. The car runs well. The overdrive works without any issues with the switch on the stick. Tires are very good. This car is a great one to drive just as is, or to continue the upgrade by working on the interior and the paint. Miata seats are installed and also need some upholstery work. I intended to do these things myself, but other projects have gotten in the way. So, it is best to let someone else enjoy the car as much as I have. Note: Ebay requires a number be listed in the "Mileage" block in this ad. The number I listed is an estimate, as the speedometer was not working properly when I got the car. The title will say "Mileage Unknown".
