Car description

Unfinished restoration in need of completion. All body work and new repaint was done 16 years ago. I have a ton of original parts, spares, nos parts, new parts. Almost everything is here to complete the car. It is an early production model with vin number le568L. I bought it from I believe the second owner in 1999, it was a California car with no rust. The car at that time had a 20 year old blue paint job that was poorly done with cracking everywhere. I had the car stripped to bare metal and replaced the drivers rear quarter and rear lower valence with new steel from Rimmer bros UK. The paint looks great with the exception of a few chips from being knocked in the garage. The color is British Racing green. The original color was damson which was a maroon color.

I have 2 top frames and all glass. Glass is in good condition. There is a ton of stuff here so please ask me anything about the car or parts.I have more photos and can provide them upon request.

Have gotten many questions about the Stag so I will try to post answers to the FAQ:

Q: Does the engine run?

A: Currently no, but it does turn over.

Q: Has the engine been rebuilt?

A: It was rebuilt by the previous owner in the early 1990's.

Q: Before the restoration began did the car drive?

A: Yes, it was a driver but I wanted to try to make it better.

Q: Why did you stop the restoration?

A: 15 years have passed since I started it and I lost interest in finishing it.

Q: What would it take to end the auction early?

A: It is a no reserve auction so any bid could win it, plus I have had the car so long I am in no hurry to end the auction a couple days early.

Q: Do you have all of the parts to finish the car?

A: I have most of the parts, it will need things like new tires, soft top, brakes, wire wheels refinished and other small bits.

Q: How much will it take to finish the car?

A: I am not sure but would guess at least a few thousand to do it right.

Q: Do you have all of the glass?

A: Yes, The windshield and back glass are out of the car but in good condition.
