Car description |
---|
Originally bought this car from California and it has been garage kept since I got it two years ago. I have had the car resprayed, fitted a new battery and had the carbs worked by Mark Raspi of Raspis British Imports in Forest Hill MD who has done some other work on the car. The previous owner added a supplementary fan (switchable)and 2nd temp guage (combined with oil pressure guage) However, I have not needed to use the supplementary fan as this Stag does not run hot. The car comes with an original owners handbook and a workshop manual (printed out from the Internet). All lights, wipers, horn, turn signals and electric windows work although passenger side is a bit slow (doesn't bother me but Rimmer Bros. do an exchange motor). Not much I would do if I were keeping the car, maybe replace the carpet which is available for @$235.
This car is fun to drive, likes to rev and handles well.As you will see from the pictures I just had it up on a lift to check out the underside and all is well.I have had a TR6 and a TR3A but this is the better vehicle. Reason for sales is that I need the garage space for another car and wife won't give up her spot :)Would require a deposit of $500 from winning bidder payable via Paypal. Can provide additional pictures or details on request.
Added comments after info requests:Car is 4 speed manual with O/D. All gears synchro smooth and O?D switches in and out smoothly. I always dip clutch on switching to reduce stress. No air conditioning. This is not a daily driver so very rare that the top is up don't think I 've used the wipers since I got the car but they do work.I don't have any invoices for the drive train rebuild as it was done by the owner before last himself. I bought from a Dr in CA who only had the car a short time as he had several other vehicles(Can provide contact info on request off Ebay) . He bought locally from an enthusiast. I have lots of other Stag club docs from that owner. The engine is the original spec Triumph V8 not a Rover or Chrysler replacement. I had Mark Raspi check the car out and it got a clean bill of health. Did replace battery and turn signal/dip and horn stalk. Also reworked soft top frame which had become a little deformed and tuned Carbs. The rear half shafts show little signs of wear so I believe they have been replaced/refurbed.I would have no qualms about a long road trip with this car. It will cruise smoothly at highway speeds. Oil pressure and water temp in range and stable on longer cruises. The car does not have original CA plates. I shipped from CA using Uship ($1100)
