So one of our customers recently told me about this TR6 he's been getting ready to restore for years and hadn't gotten around to it, nd the next thing you know I had bought it! Now it's my turn to not get around to it. :) So here's my take on it: It needs paint (obviously). The driver seat needs to be recovered. The wood dash needs refinishing. A couple of the knobs on the dash are missing (see photos). The brake booster needs to be repaired or replaced (the brakes work, ut no power assist). It needs tires - the Michelin "red rings" are old and there's some dry-rot. The soft top is serviceable, ut as cheap as tops are you'd replace it. The carburetors have been upgraded to Webers and the original Strombergs are in the trunk (with the trunk rack). It starts right up, s not smoking, nd runs very well. It has very good oil pressure. The transmission and clutch seem pretty solid (I never got it to fourth gear). I don't see any rust perforation. The chrome bumpers are very good, ith only light pitting. It's showing 59,xxx miles. The previous owner believes that to be accurate, nd (IMO) it probably is. It's a project, ut one that's worth tackling. This is a strong running, ood driving wire-wheel TR6 that needs mostly cosmetics. If it hangs around long enough, 'll get to it - but the price will go up accordingly. In the mean time, ere's a chance to get a good, olid car and do it your way!
