Up for sale is my 1981 Toyota Corolla with 94,240 miles. I found the car on eBay in June 2016 with 69,000 miles. I had it shipped from Las Vegas to me in Chicago. I converted the front lights and grill to the quad lights you see now, and I also had the interior seats, front and back, professionally reupholstered with automotive vinyl. the original lights and grill the car came with are included in the auction. The car has served me well the 4 years I have driven it, but it’s time I move on.
I have had 4 of these corollas since I was a teenager and never once have I been stranded, or it didn’t start. I have driven though the coldest winters, the highest snow, and hottest temperatures Chicago has to offer, and the car never let me down. I have an album with 200+ pictures. This car has its bumps and bruises for being a 40 year old car. As well as the typical cracked dashboard which has a cover. There are no leaks on this car. i did my best to photo as much of the bottom of the car as possible without having access to a lift. As far as I know, no body work had been done, everything is original.
I get a lot of compliments on how clean it is, but there are flaws if you look closely. Here are all the things I have done in the last year to the car
1. Full tune up: plugs, cap, wires, air filter, fuel filter, and oxygen sensor.2. alignment.3. all 4 tires.4. front brakes and rotors. my mechanic said the rear drums are ok and do not need to be replaced yet.5. recharged AC, and blows cold.6. full stock exhaust front to back7. All fluids changed, trans, diff, coolant, brake, and I recently had the oil changed.
This is what I know is wrong with car.1. The parking brake does not work.2. fuel is off. When the car is at 1/4 tank, that really means it’s on E.3. getting some water in the trunk when it rains hard. I have sealed what I could, but somehow it didn’t fix the problem all the way.4. Heat/AC can only blow 1 way. My mechanic said the bracket is messed up so in the winter I adjust it so only defrost will work, and in the summer I adjust it so only the vents facing forward works.5. The carb needs to be adjusted. I noticed this winter it takes more pumps of the gas pedal to fire up in the cold Chicago morning, and takes a little longer to get up to temp compared to the summer. Once the car is up to temp it runs wonderfully.
Payment should be made by cash, wire, or certified check that I can verify from your bank before the car and title is released to you. If you are out of state I will assist with working with you on shipping. If you have any questions let me know.<a hr
