Car description |

The heritage, legendary reliability, and folklore surrounding the greatest piece of Japanese engineering to cross the Pacific cannot be fully communicated on this platform. Vintage Land Cruisers turn heads even more today than they did when they were first introduced.
Immediately after buying this beast a little over a year ago, I took off on a 1,700 cross-country trip. I expected this vehicle to die on me at least 2-3 times on the trip. But I had too little faith! Before leaving I only swapped out the belts and checked the oil, and this Bronze Billy Goat made the whole trip without stopping once. I had read up on the legend of the Land Cruiser, but this performance exceeded all my expectations.
Being a 30+ year-old vehicle with no full restoration and all original miles, this Cruiser was due some updates to maintain its capability and glory. Through the last year I've been driving it as my daily driver and have replaced several mechanical components and some minor cosmetic pieces here and there as I've had time and money to do so. But with a growing family, I over-estimated how much opportunity I'd have to love on this Cruiser. So now is the [very sad] time to part with it. My hope is that the next owner will give the Bronze Billy Goat the opportunity to stretch its legs as it deserves.
This Cruiser has all of the following:4WD with manual locking hubsManual transmissionA/C and HeatManual locks and windowsOEM tool kitOEM Owner's Manual2"-3" (previous owner was unsure)Stainless steel exhaust (it sounds beautiful)Grill GuardRoof rackAftermarket floor matsOriginal seat fabricOriginal rimsOriginal parts and equipmentAny parts replacements since I bought it have been OEM or OE-similar parts
Improvements since owning it (w/ mileage when replaced):New tires (240,700)All new u-joints (240,700)All new belts (240,700)Alternator rebuild (242,400)Fuel pump replacement (242,500)Starter rebuild (242,550)Carburetor rebuild (244,950)Replace all spark plugs with iridium (246,050)Tune-up (251,000)Valve cover gasket (251,000)Tie rod ends and steering stabilizer (254,650)4-wheel alignment (254,700)New windshield (242,400)Windshield clear UV film (249,000)Replace driver's side window regulatorand crank handle (251,500)Replace headlamps (254,500)
Known minor issues, most of which are to be expected on FJ60's of this age:Paint job - contains dings and oxidation on hood and roof (see pics)Rust - some rust on rear quarter-panels (see pics)Oil leakDriver's side seat cushion is breaking downDash panel shows cracking
Overall, this Land Cruiser is absolutely beautiful. Everywhere it goes, people love it.
