Car description |
---|
This is a great truck, and every mechanic who has seen it has said so—from Toyota dealers to independent Toyota shops to Land Cruiser specialists. Rock solid, mechanically sound, tastefully upgraded, and tracks straight down the highway at 75. I searched for a rust free 60 for a long time before finding this one and I immediately had it professionally undercoated with Chassis Saver (similar to POR15) to protect against road salt. I have since made nearly all of the top FJ60 mods to this truck, including the H55f 5 speed transmission swap, complete heavy duty lift/suspension kit upgrade, BMW 3 Series front seats on Torfab bolt in adapters, Tuffy Deluxe stereo console, and a professional de-smog. I have also done some unique, family friendly stuff like adding a 3rd row with real seats and installing 3 point shoulder belts all around. The $2500 stereo system was installed without cutting the stock front door panels. The exterior needs a few ding fixes and a paint job—or leave it as is and avoid worrying about trail scratches or shopping carts. I had a donor 1984 FJ60 so this truck comes with lots of extras, including a full set of factory original seating in great shape. Change between factory and the upgraded seating when you feel like it or pick one set and sell the others.
The truck can be returned to a pretty stock model if you like. It still has the original engine, interior (seats, console, dash, door panels), wheels, grill/emblems, bumpers, roof rack, etc. Everything on the truck works except the cigarette lighter. The rear heater and rear window washer worked, but are not installed at present because of the BMW seat upgrade and I didn't want an old bag of liquid possibly leaking inside the body of the truck for no real purpose.
Aside from the upgrades I’ve made, this is one of those special 60’s from the Southwest that has held up over time incredibly well and still feels really strong and solid. It is a New Mexico truck and still has the dealer logo. This truck gets compliments and "thumbs ups" constantly. I have well over$10,000 more than the reserve price invested in the truck. Unfortunately, my commute changed and I needed a more modern vehicle. I can't have both, so I have to sell this one ... very, very reluctantly. It deserves a good home.

I have posted high resolution photos on a Google Photos page, but I am not allowed to include the link here. I guess you can send me an email to get the link. These photos are much better than the iPhone shots I posted in the goofy youtube slideshow at the link above.
Also, I can't seem to find the original bottle jack, so it won't be included.
