eBay's system did not recognize the VIN due to the fact that this truck was originally manufactured for the Canadian market. The VIN is in the photos and is JT3BJ42C2E0007581. This is a Canadian market 1984 BJ42 Diesel Land Cruiser with 3.4 liter '3B' Toyota diesel engine and legendary Toyota Land Cruiser four wheel drive. This truck has most recently been a daily driver and very dependable and fun to drive. As such it is not all original, nor is it a show quality BJ42 but it has undergone miscellaneous restoration work. The tub had too much corrosion to repair and has been replaced with a tub from another 40 series that needs some body repair and paint work. A replacement rear sill plate is included as are some other parts from the original tub such as the heat duct work, the dash panel that holds the switches, another pedal bracket for brake and clutch pedal, and the rear quarter panel lights. The roof and headliner are original, but the roof does have some minor rust on the front corners. The front and rear seats are original. The exhaust system is new Toyota OEM, but recently the tailpipe broke free from the rear muffler and melted the left taillight assembly. So it will need a new taillight assembly and the tailpipe welded back to the muffler. The current taillight units are aftermarket, so they needed to be replaced for OEM units eventually. I also have an after market air conditioning system to install which includes compressor, evaporator house, condenser, hoses and controls. Also, the original H55F 5 speed transmission was not salvageable and a 4 speed was installed. The main seals and oil pan on the engine were resealed. It does have the original and extremely rare power steering and 3B diesel engine. The engine needs a new EDIC controller, which can be found in the aftermarket. Also, it has the original windshield frame, rear ambulance doors, front doors, seats, roll bar, dash panel pad, instrument panel, dash panel switch plate unique to the BJ42, headliner, and it is a 24 volt Canadian model. I also have the original front fenders, and the original side panels with windows, which need some repair and paint. The headlights have been converted to 24V units, and the front and rear bumpers are new OEM.
I have done my best to accurately and honestly represent the condition of this truck. It is a 34 year old vehicle and as such has no warranty implied or stated. I will hold the truck while you arrange for shipping or until you arrive to pick it up and drive it home, if you decide to do so. If you do decide to drive it home, remember there are lots of extra parts to go with it that will take up a lot of interior space. I am including all original body panels that I have which are not installed right now-such as the front fenders and the rear body panels above the tub-up to the roof. Mileage is estimated. The engine has been rebuilt, has very little blow-by, and the odometer was replaced when the tub was replaced.
