I imported my 1982 BJ42 about 6 months ago. It has a clear Louisiana title. It passed inspection, s insured, nd is being driven regularly. If you'd like to come to Lake Charles you're welcome to test drive it. This is not a show truck. If it were the reserve would be $40,000 and not $15,500. The truck has had a fairly recent paint job by the previous owner. The truck was originally white. The paint looks great from 10 feet. Upon close inspection there are small imperfections in the paint....scratches and rock chips. The body is in excellent condition. There is no rot anywhere. The usual problem spots on these trucks (door bottoms and the tub by the ambulance doors) are rust free. This truck did not come from Costa Rica, o there are not rot issues that are often associated with a vehicle coming from the humid tropics. Mechanically the truck runs and drives well. I just replaced the two batteries within the past week. The truck is 24v. There is a small oil leak on the rear main seal, ut it's nothing that will keep you from driving it. It's small enough I don't have to add oil between oil changes. 4x4 and 4 speed transmission all work without problems. The door and window seals are new. The 3.4L inline 4 cylinder diesel is the stock motor and it gets excellent fuel mileage around 27 mpg. Being a later Jmodel Landcruiser this truck is geared a little more road friendly. I believe the gears are 3.73 as the truck will run 65 mph on the highway withsome of pedal left. The truck has factory disc brakes. There is no reasonwhy this truck couldn't be a daily driver. It is also a very solid rust freetruck to start with for somebody who wanted to do a frame off restoration.I will gladly answer any questions or provide more pictures. Please message me.
