Car description

I am listing my 1984 FJ60 Land Cruiser with rebuilt motor and fresh paint.

Little back story:

I sold my last vehicle thru eBay, t was a 1985 Eurospec Mercedes Gelandewagen 5 speed w/ OM603 diesel. Did an entire cosmetic restore including paint job and fixed any items the previous owner neglected. I sold it because I needed the funds to finish my track car and the wife needed me to get a daily driver that was more family and kidney friendly.

Picked up my current gem from a Toyota Land Cruiser forum (IH8MUD.com) member which I've also used to buy an FJ40 in the past. The previous owner did a lot of work to the 60, ncluding rebuilding the engine as well as the front end and drive train. For months I've poured countless hours and a lot of money transforming this into a like new vehicle again that I could trust as my daily driver. I planned to take my 60 cross country later this month so I've spared no expense on the mechanicals. Unfortunately, he wife didn't want me to be the only driver on our 22hr trip (can't drive standard) so were getting a rental. To add to that, he wife wants a new SUV so we came to an agreement. I would buy her a new vehicle only if I could build another toy, o that is what I am doing. I'm currently looking at a few FJ40/45/55's that I can transform into a trail monster and throw in an LS swap. This is the only reason I'm selling the 60, need the money for more toys!! Here is a description of some work that has been performed in the past year:

Fresh repaint of body. All original body caulking removed and replace with 3M automotive. No rust on body or wheel wells

Fully rebuilt late model 2F donor out of a 76 FJ40, riginal motor was tired and unsalvageable - roughly 8,000 miles on rebuild.

Shaved head, V cam, e-smogged

New Man-a-Fre headers

New Champion 2-core radiator

New exhaust + tubing

Valves adjusted - 500 miles ago

All new cooling hoses + silicone hoses to heater core

All vacuum hoses replaced at time of de-smog

New AC pump + recharge 5 months old

Diesel carb hat to custom intake for snorkel

Front Axle rebuilt before motor was done, arlin crawler kit was used to rebuild - 3200 miles on rebuild

Hubs rebuilt and repainted

Transmission pulled and inspected

Transfer case had hairline crack in rear case so it was pulled and welded no leaks afterwards. At time of weld, ransmission to transfer input seal replaced and entire transfer resealed with original gaskets sourced by mud vendor - 1 month ago

Newer springs from FJ62 with CCOT shackles

New tires Jan 2015 - lots of tread left

Doors and tail gate from a donor 60, riginal doors were rusted in the pillar and the tailgate was damaged by a trailer.

All rust areas were treated or cut out and replaced with new sheet metal

No rust was found in the wheel wells

Full repaint with classic mojave desert tan single stage

Rain gutters stripped, oor jambs, nderside hood, nbsp;and all original caulking stripped and re-sealed with 3M automotive sealer

New windshield and rubber at time of repaint + have new spare windshield

New door rubber and windshield gasket, m caulking applied around gaskets to prevent water pooling

New pioneer Bluetooth/USB cd changer + new amp (under driver seat) + 4 new pioneer speakers

All seats in great condition, river seat sourced from donor vehicle original was ripped. Seats match and currently covered with SOR seat covers front and rear

New wiper blades

All electrical works. Fusible link replaced at battery connection. Inclinometer works but clock does not as power was taken for radio.

New h4 headlights, new fuses, iring at fuse block gone through.

Gauge cluster lights replaced with LED's

Tuffy center console with camlock and new tuffy cup holder

I have spared no expense making this a trustworthy daily driver. As said before I plan to drive this cross country from Mississippi where I'm currently stationed to California. It is currently my daily driver and starts first turn every time without the use of the choke and with our current 35deg weather all it needs is a 2-3 pumps of the throttle and it starts and idles just fine with the choke. Still have the stock console, ear quarter inner panels, nd various other parts pulled for upgrades.

Items that are currently being taken care of:

Speedometer does not work: Tested gauge, able, nd speedo gear drive. Speedo is good, able inner is broke, nd gear drive is toast. Waiting on cable and new drive from Toyota. Will be replaced before new owner takes hold

Sway bar end links are looking tired. Steering stabilizer works but dont know when last replaced. New parts ordere, nd links arrived and will be installed this week. Waiting on damper.

Hatch shocks tired. Ordered/will be installed

Spring bushings: a few are looking weathered while some are not. Its cheaper to buy a whole polyurethane set so one has been ordered.

Front headlight washer bottle is cracked. Don't use, o part on order.

I can tell you everything that is right with this vehicle but if you are seriously interested take a trip to my location and take her for a spin. Message me with a contact number and I will get back asap. I have photos when I took the 60 apart for the repaint and I can take any video or pictures you may want so ask away.

Thanks and happy bidding!!!
