1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser with Meyer E47 6 1/2'snow plow. Two owner vehicle - I purchased from the original owner on December 5, 001. The original owner bought this vehicle when he was attending college at the University of Idaho. He and his family were in the automotive bumper repair business and this Toyota was stored on an upper floor of their business in downtown Chicago. There was about 1/4" of dust on the truck when I first viewed it back in 2001 and it was a non-runner. I took a leap of faith and bought the truck because I have a long driveway at home and a snow blower wasn't cutting it. It required about $1,000 of refurbishing to get it running and make the plow functional. Since that time, have only used this truck to plow my driveway and from time to time plow a few friend's driveway. The mileage when I bought it was 59,853 and today it shows 60,024 - I'm not sure the odometer is accurate but plowing involves many miles in reverse so it could be accurate. I seldom took the Toyota off my property - usually just to fill the gas tank or plow a friend's driveway. The original color is Cygnus White but it was covered in gray primer when I purchased it and it still wears that finish (although the primer has all but worn away). This Toyota runs and drives but the tires (Goodyear Tracker XG H78-15LT) are old and obsolete. The E47 Meyer snow plow quit working during the 2012/2013 winter season and is in need of attention. I purchased a set of NOS snow plow lights several years ago and installed them myself. It has an under-seat heater, ear folding seats and a trailer hitch. The spare tire carrier was about to fall of due to rusty hinges so I removed the tire and carrier but the parts are present and included in the sale - as is the original window sticker and two manuals. Buyer pays shipping - sold as-is and where is. Clear Illinois title. On Oct-19-15 at 15:50:48 PDT, eller added the following information:
Since I bought the FJ back in 2001, inimal maintenance work has been performed. The tires - including the spare - are very old and probably not safe. A complete tune-up was performed when I took delivery of the FJ which included points, otor, ondenser, ap, ires, ir filter, uel filter, lugs, hermostat, oses and a new radiator. In 2003, he battery holddown tray and I believe a new master cylinder (I can't find that receipt) were replaced. I replaced the cowl vent tubes in 2004 and have replaced the battery over the years as needed (a trickle charger, hich can be seen in the photo, as installed many years ago and is always plugged in). I am not aware of any frame issues
