This is one of the nicest Samurai tin tops around. It gets comments everywhere it goes and when people hear the turbo whine they freak out.
Good:Body is in excellent conditionRhino lined interior1.6 VW turbo diesel conversion performed by life long VW diesel mechanic4" lift with 32x10.5 Swamper radialsDetroit locker in rear4.89:1 transfer caseRocker railsARB front bumperKC lights on bumperWarn winchNo rust
Bad:The clear coat is peeling on the paintThe door panels and headliner need replacedThe front seal on the injection pump started leaking and fuel got on the timing belt. The belt is still intact, but is starting to fall apart. The engine has not been turned over since the belt started to go. Basically it needs a new timing belt and a new seal on the injector pump. The transfer case is difficult to shift, probably due to the well known shifter bushing problem (cheap and easy fix)
The Sammy ran great before it started leaking and should get around 40 MPG. Would be great as a fuel sipping daily driver, weekend rock crawler, hunting or camping vehicle, or tow behind an RV. Hate to see it go, but I have too many projects and this one is too nice to just sit there. Must be towed. Shipping cost/arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I have a Service Manual and the Installation Guide for this diesel engine. Vehicle sold AS IS. Serious buyers can call at 303-748-4658 with questions or more details. Thanks for looking!
