1987 Suzuki Samurai 4X4 1.3
The engine is NEW as of 2 years ago BUT only has less than 200 miles on it. This is not your stock 1.3 motor, this is a High Performance 100hp motor rebuilt by Rod's Suzuki Samurai, Rod is the Mid-West Samurai specialist out of Iowa. This precision engine is balanced and blueprinted. Rebuilt hi performance, Includes new high compression custom flat top pistons (10-1) with new improved ring design; new crank kit, new water pump and new oil pump. New mid range power cam. Rebuilt head with new exhaust/intake valves, new premium valve seals. The valves have been set, new valve cover, oil pan, timing belt, new timing belt cover, fuel pump and distributor housing. The carb is a Weber 2 barrel that is jetted for southern California altitude(so upto 10,000 foot level). Currently with the configuration it is now puts 90 hp and 100 lbs of torque. The only draw back is you MUST use Premium Gas 90 to 94 Octane rating to get the horsepower I am describing, 87 Octane would not be a good idea. If you put on headers it can do 100 plus horsepower. The motor and Carb alone cost me $2400 shipped to my house!
As far as I can tell it's getting 25 to 30 miles to the gallon when driving it on pavement.... in the 2 years it has been in Oregon I have only used 5 gallons of gas, most of that bouncing around in low range.
It WILL NOT pass California smog in its current configuration, I do have the stock California Carb that you can put on, plug it into the harness, and connect the vacuum hoses... if you need to smog it, tho you will lose 10 horsepower, but still is much better than the stock motor that only had 60 hp if you were lucky!! All of the Smog Carb wiring is still intact on the vehicle and ready for carbed to be plugged into. I will also supply vacuum hose for doing this. Stock Exhaustsystem still intact.
This would be great vehicle for someone off roading or maybe someone needs it on their ranch, but still drive it on the highway.
It has current Arizona tags till 2022 on it now.
Title is CLEAN, Title in hand, NO Salvage!!!!
I have replaced every hose on the motor, brand new 45 amp alternator, new wipers, new soft top, and the heater core!
I have pulled all the seats and carpet out and washed the interior, washed the carpet.
Now for the seats.... well I have run out of money to do anything else with this vehicle, to make this a very nice vehicle you will need some seat covers or have someone re-do them.
I can NOT see ANY Transmission, transfer case or front/rear differential leaks. Transmission shifts with no grinds, does not pop out of gear, transfer case shifts into all positions with no problems, front locking hubs easy to set or release. All gears sound good no excessive whining or noise.
The clutch I think again has only 2000 miles on it it was done in Arizona 10 or 12 years ago, I have had no problems... no slipping even with the higher horsepower now.
Brakes are good condition Disc up front drums in the rear.
I repainted the bumpers flat black, pulled all the wheels off and painted the drums and springs flat black, painted the wheels white.
The tires have about 5,500 miles on it BUT 4,700 of it is it being pulled behind my truck. The spare tire has never been on the ground!! Falken RV 215/75R-15 Radials
The quick story on this is, my friend who owned it had it in Arizona on his 40 acre land to get around instead using his car, it was always inside the garage when he wasn't using it. I acquired and replaced the motor 2 years ago took up to my Oregon property for doing the same thing, tho it did sit outside in the weather(this is why I replaced the soft top). This is why the milage is so low on the new motor, I would shocked if it truly had 200 engine running miles on it!! I would say it is closer to 100 miles if anything!!
There is a tracking alarm device in it, so one phone call to it, and it will text back with its location... just click on the text in your phone it will bring up Google Maps and show you the location of the vehicle within 10 feet, also you can send a text to it to shut down the vehicle, or send a text then call it and you can listen in on the interior of the vehicle. Also has a panic button! You can send a text to Arm it, and if someone starts the vehicle it will text you!
No Radio, tho there is AM/FM antenna installed on the vehicle and the power for the radio is easy accessible.
Heater BLOWS Hot for those COLD mornings, windshield wipers are new and work for those long days of RAIN!!!
OK so there is NO A/C!! tho I see there some kits out there to add on, and the Samurai has the A/C ducting already in.
Along with this vehicle I have a complete new set of hoses, the California carb, Eckhart Tow Bar and magnetic towing lights with 4 pin connector as part of the deal!!
With the tow bar you can pull this behind your motorhome for cruising around town or out camping. This vehicle is so lite you will never know it's behind you!!!
The body is good condition considering it is over 30 years old. No rusted out panels or floor board. Some rust stains around some screws and bolts... but c'mon at over 30 years of age that's like 100 years in people life... I think I would have a little rust on me!!!
Please see all of the pics any other info please email me!It is advertised locallyon Craigs so listing could end at anytime!!
