You are bidding on a rare 1965 Porsche 356 SC Coupe. I recently bought it from the second owner who acquired it over 50 years ago when it was only 2 years old. The original color was slate gray with the original red interior that is still in it. It still has the original numbers matching engine and transmission it came with from the factory and the engine turns over, but has not run in about 12 years.
The previous owner decided he wanted to restore it about 12 years ago, so he took out the interior pieces and extraneous items from the outside of the body that you see removed in the pictures. He then took it to a body shop to do the prep and paint work, but removed it when they weren't working fast enough to suit him. All they did were the 2 doors, hood, and engine lid, leaving them in primer. He then decided to sand off the paint himself, doing the front fenders and the rear area. He didn't put any paint on the car and the flash rust you see in the sanded areas is the result of that. He then put it in his garage where it has been sitting for the past 12 years.
I have taken a complete inventory of the car and the only items I found missing were: 1) front turn signals; 2) left horn; 3) windshield; 4) spare wheel.
The original ignition key is still present with the car. The car was originally purchased in Atlanta, GA, and the 2nd owner, whom I bought it from, also lived in Atlanta. So the car has always been in Georgia and has not been exposed to road salt.
NOTE: The Fuchs wheels that are on the car in the pictures DO NOT go with the car. I am putting 4 new tires on the original wheels and they will be mounted back on the car in place of the Fuchs wheels.
