For sale by PCA member, a factory M491 targa Turbo-Look. 1 of 65 Targas produced with the M491 option in 1985. The targa's were the lowest production of the M491 widebody cars. The 491 option was $14,000 in 1985, hence the very low production numbers.
The M491 option - officially called the 'Supersport' but commonly known as the 'Turbo Look'. Introduced in 1984, it was a style that resembled the Type 930 911 Turbo with its flared wheel arches, large rear wing, and deeper front spoiler. The M491 package also included the Turbo's stiffer suspension, superior brakes, and wider wheels.
My car is a factory M491, verified on turbo-look registry. Factory options listed on the registry:
158 - Reno Stereo
383 - Sports seat left
387 - Sports sear right
454 - Automatic speed control
491 - Turbo-Look
Local Bay Area car from new, this is a great driving car. No leaks, smoke or mechanical issues. Service records back to 1987 documenting many repairs and excellent upkeep, and fully supporting genuine low mileage. Mainly carried out by local Porsche air cooled specialist. Matching numbers engine.
Targa top is great condition and has no leaks.
Mostly original paint. Non-original stereo is now fitted (i dont have the original Reno im afraid).
Clean carfax / CA title in my name. This is a great driver but not perfect. Offers over text and the usual scams will be ignored. This is a genuine M491 and needs a genuine new home.
