Car description

I have owned this 911 for over 25 years and bought it from its original owner in North Carolina. It has been a street car, a driver's education car and a PCA Club Racer. It is an extremely reliable and fun car. It is a solid, rust free car that has been garaged or in a trailer since I bought it. I have one child in college with another starting in a year so my time and money are being focused on other things.

The original 2.7 liter engine had pulled its head studs so a 3.0 liter was acquired from a 1978 911SC and rebuilt. It was a total rebuild with reground
camshafts, valves, valve guides, timing chains and tensioners. Weber carbs were installed instead of the stock fuel injection. The engine was built for longevity so we did not "push" any limits...it has definitely met that requirement as I have had to do nothing to it other
than basic maintenance. I bought a 3.2 liter engine (with ecu and harness) several years ago that needs to be rebuilt that I will be selling separately or with the car for the right price.
Transmission was rebuilt around the same time as the engine in the mid 90's. 3rd gear syncro is weak which shows up when cold.
Suspension has 22/28 torsion bars and Bilstein shocks. The fronts are the units that have the spindles raised and reinforced...allowing the front to be lowered even more.
Roll cage is welded in and connected to the windshield posts and side posts which made the car much stiffer. The door bar can be removed to make it easier to use on the street but I have never found it necessary to remove them. Over the past few years I have tried to upgrade and replace some items such as door panels, carpet, removable steering wheel, dash, solid engine/trans mounts, short shift, windshield and battery relocation using Rennline parts.
Brakes...stock rears and 944 Turbo rear brakes on the front. Larger master cylinder as well. Still not what I would like and I would recommend doing one of the
conversion kits out there that have the right "feel".
Front mounted oil cooler works great and never had any overheating problems.
It is registered and licensed in Maryland with Street Rod tags so it can be driven on the road if you didn't want to trailer it to the track. I have not had it on the track since the early 2000's and since that time PCA has added Vintage Racing to the Club Racing events. This car would be an excellent way to get into that. Additional pictures can be provided.
