Car description

This 1971 911T is a beautiful example of the early, long-hood Porsches. It is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, inside and out. The car spent the first 20 years on the West Coast with the 1st and 2nd owners. In 1993, the 3rd owner brought the car to Texas, where it remains today. There, it was his daily driver for 23 years, until his retirement from work. The car then went to the current (4th) owner, who drove it for the last four years until recently being transferred overseas.

The 2.2 liter flat-six is mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle. The numbers-matching car came from the factory with optional Koni shocks, front and rear sway bars, aluminum front brake calipers, Fuchs alloy wheels, full leather interior, S gauges and trim, two-stage heated rear window, and more. The seller is offering this 911T with a service history since new, original owner’s manual and tool kit, stamped maintenance booklet, clean Texas title, and Porsche factory Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

Originally finished in Signal Yellow, the previous owner painted the car Light Ivory, in 1991. Some small rock chips and minor scratches are present from years of normal use. Although many cars of this vintage have had floors, rockers, or other sections replaced due to rust or other damage, this example retains all of its original, undamaged sheet metal.

The black all-leather interior is original, and the seats show some creasing but have no rips or tears. The front 3-point seat belts have been updated. Speakers have been installed in the kick panels, and the seller installed an adapter that allows a smart phone to be plugged into the original factory radio.

The odometer shows 81,865 miles and has rolled over once, so the actual mileage is 181,865 miles. The engine was overhauled at 135k miles, and the transmission was overhauled at 157k miles. Carrera pressure-fed chain tensioners, Turbo tie-rods and Turbo lower valve covers were installed. One Optima gel-cell battery replaces the two standard batteries. The car was serviced fewer than 3k miles ago with an oil/filter change, valve adjustment, and general inspection. Everything on the car functions properly.

The car is available for inspection before the end of the auction. All inspection costs are borne by the buyer. More details and information upon request.
