Car description |
---|
I am selling my 1978 928 because I have come to the realization that I am never going to take the car to the next level it deserves. I honestly spent months searching out a early first production year 928. I wanted a manual and a pasha interior. This proved hard to find. I ended up acquiring this great example from a long time 928 enthusiast in New York.
Since I bought the car I have just kept it maintained with a battery tender and in my ware house. Driving lightly to keep all systems working. Putting maybe 20 miles on the car. It always starts right up! And runs very very smoothly.
This is a great car and need to be in the hands of someone who will take it to the next level and love and enjoy it..
Some things I can note is that the second gear synchro is very tired. Clutch is very smooth and engages nicely. Steering is nice.
This car has a Limited Slip Differential which is very nice..
I do not have a lot of paperwork with this car.
Has owners manual, spare and compressor no tools.
Below is a description from the gentleman I bought it from. Who knows more about these cars than I ever will dream too :)
Euro 1978 928, manual transmission, non sunroof Pasha interior,no rubstrips. This ones a good solid candidate. Has around 60k miles on it. Odometer stopped working at 58 K, I put approximately 2k miles on it. This was my former 928,A VERY reputable shop in Long Island NY, did the following work to it. New Timing Belt with PorTensioner, New Water Pump, New Ball Joints, Fuel Lines,Brakes done,Rear Half Shafts Rebooted and Serviced,New Hood and hatch Struts installed, New Radiator Hoses and all New Fan Belts installed,New Hatch Hood Cable installed,Passenger Weissach Arm replaced and rebushed,New Battery,All fresh fluids installed, was repainted not stock MoccaBraun, it's a lighter shade brown with Metallic in it. All electrics work, passed NY State inspection. Needs a Rear Muffler, Second Gear Synchro worn,Clutch Slave has a slow leak, will eventually need a starter motor, Interior needs restoration. Car is a strong runner and starts every time. Idles perfect.
