Car description |
---|
If you know why the key is on the left, ou will appreciate this car. This is the last of the light weights. I am listing the car in original, nmolested condition so you can see what you are buying. I have owned the car for 19 years. The previous owner asserted that the car had never seen rain or snow and I believe that as the original cosmoline is evident throughout the vehicle. I have kept the car in the garage and have also kept it from rain and snow, lthough I have been caught in the rain a few times. The car did not melt. The car is rust-free and solid. The interior is immaculate with no visible defects. The beautiful Fuchs alloys are unmarked, he lug nuts are original featherweights. The car has 2 defects on the paintwork, he sunroof has slipped it's cassette and scratched the roof. It can be adjusted back into track and will operate correctly. This is a common trait of early sunroof coupes. The driver's door exhibits a dent and scratching. I have not had either repaired so you can see this car in it's original condition. The original engine had a small problem with oil leaking so I had it removed for rebuilding. I replaced it with a 1975 2.7 that I bought from a Porsche fanatic from California (are you reading this Pete?). The 1975 engine had it's heads done and the stud problem repaired and came with the early exhaust and 11-blade fan that is so essential for the 2.7 liter engine. It runs so strong that I haven't had the original engine rebuilt. The original engine comes with the car for those of you who want matching numbers in as-is condition. It ran fine when it was removed, ut needs attention. It has 42,000 miles on it so will not need more than a re-seal IMO. You will be responsible for pickup or shipping of the engine. The car and engine may be picked up in either zip code 16922 or 14710. The red 1988 911 Carrera in one photo is also for sale. See my other listing. After writing this description I wonder why I am selling it. "Oh, ord, on't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.........."
