There have been big investments all around this 1976 Pontiac Firebird to give you a well-built 455 V8, a tight performance suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a fresh interior, and a sleek golden exterior. So this is the big power coupe already done exactly the way you want it.
The '76 Firebird was the final year for some key pieces. It was the last time you could get the mighty 455, and it was also the last time this would have the distinct round headlight front end. So this one pays tribute to these icons nicely. For starters, the stripe package is reminiscent of what you got on the early second-gen Trans Ams. The fender vents and full-width rear spoiler are pure T/A muscle, too. But the body doesn't have the full kit, which makes this quite distinct. It gives this a little bit of a sleeker look that's highlighted further by a very professional application of a bright gold. This modern clearcoat paint loves to let the sunlight roll evenly across the well-done body panels. Plus, the hood scoop, big dual exhaust tips, and upgraded wheels with an extra meaty rear set all point to a truly powerful Firebird.
The white exterior stripe with black outline not only looks great, but it's also a preview of the interior color package. The seats, door panels, dash, headliner, and center console all look great and remind you that the right investment were made in this coupe. Your first glance will see a very stock-style presentation, but as you look closer, you'll discover some worthwhile upgrades. The radio is a modern AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth for upgraded driving music. The steering wheel is a T/A-style sports unit, and it's mounted on a tilt column so you can get a clear view of the full gauge package with large speedo and tach.
As mentioned before, this was the last year for the mighty 455 cubic-inch V8. So it's great to have it looking so nice under the hood. In fact, the consignor states there's only about 200 miles on the motor since its rebuild, and the bright/fresh presentation of the turquoise on the block seems to support that. It inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and the mild cam gives you that extra performance tingle. And the X-pipe dual exhaust with Florwmasters gives this a terrific muscle car sound. But don't just listen to the tune, follow its path in the undercarriage photos. There you'll see just how fresh this coupe is over every inch. You'll also spot nice upgrades like frame reinforcements and a thick rear sway bar. There are nice driving features like power steering and a three-speed automatic transmission. Plus, there's enhanced control with the modern BF Goodrich Advantage T/A tires and four-wheel power disc brakes.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a strong and sleek coupe that pays tribute to the best of the second-gen Firebird. So if you love a big power custom, call today!
