This 1969 Pontiac Firebird Convertible restomod is what a cool custom classic is all about. It takes a true icon and upgrades it with a sports suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and an overdrive transmission. And don't forget to check out the awesome fuel-injected LS6 upgrade that gives this powerful Pontiac an outstanding performance heart.
A Firebird is quite a cool classic, and this one has the right details that make it really stand out. The iconic beak-like front end has a terrific shine; newer headlights give this bright eyes; and the body panels remain crisp. They are all the right factory sporty details, like the dual hood scoops, fender vents, and a full-width rear spoiler. Plus, the white paint makes for a great backdrop for some added aggression in this restomod. It really helps to highlight contrasting pieces like the red letter badging and black 18-inch Boss Motorsports wheels.
The white top looks good against the exterior color, and since the electrics were recently serviced, it powers down easily. This reveals a distinct interior. The door panels and carpeting are done in a deep blue. The seats are also blue, but have white piping, headrests, and cool tuck-n-roll style inserts. So they look quite nice while also providing a bridge to the exterior color. You'll also love how the driver's package has been upgraded to remind you this is a restomod. It has performance pieces like a grippy sports steering wheel, B&M floor shifter, and a full Dakota Digital gauge setup that glows an aggressive red.
You're going to lift the hood wherever you park this Firebird just so everyone can see the modern motor within. This is the mighty fuel-injected LS6 V8 that helped us learn names like Corvette Z06. This one was professionally rebuilt in 2016 as part of this car's full performance upgrade (we're told about $44k invested in the restoration and upgrading.) It even has nice supporting features like an upgraded air intake and a BeCool aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. It fires up like a proper modern FI machine should, and the long tube headers feeding the Flowmaster dual exhaust gives this a terrific rumble that will make people take notice. And make sure to check out those pipes in the undercarriage photos. There you'll also spot a $14k investment in a full SpeedTech suspension upgrade that includes a beefy front end with tubular A-arms and a control arm rear with adjustable coilovers. The 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission was the choice of the C5 Corvette, and so it delivers the ideal balance of stout and smooth. Plus, you have power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and modern performance tires afforded by the wheel upgrade.
When a classic GM icon has been upgraded in all the best ways (especially modern GM power,) it makes for an irresistible deal. Call today!!!
