Car description |
---|
1985 Pontiac Sunbird Convertible, it is an old bird from and old bird. The car is unmolested and a true survivor. It has been in storage for about 18 years. The gentleman who owned the car only drove it in the summer. I need some space and don't have the room for this one anymore, so it will need a new home. The car runs and drives at it should for a 1985, it goes down the road straight and stops. I had it on the road yesterday and on the highway for about a 87 miles and hour and a half with no issues. The car is very solid for it's age and has very minimal rust. see photos nothing major at all. The paint is nice for a 1985 and seems to be original. The body is very clean some nicks and chips and a few dings or dents nothing to take away from it's beauty. I would not be afraid to pull into a car show with it. It has plenty of life left in it. It is ready for summer cruising with the top down.
The car does have A/C but will need a charge of R12, so bring a couple cans and I will charge it up for you. The car does need a windshield due to a crack. Not a big deal not expensive at all. Do some research or I can call my glass guy tomorrow and get a quote. The older gentleman who owned the car did something pretty interesting. The drivers seat had some seam tears in it and he used hot glue. I have never seen this before, but I have to hand it to him it holds up pretty dam well. If your familiar with Pontiacs in the 80's and early 90's the material they used on their interiors is pretty thin. I guess a set of seat covers or a trip to the trim shop to make it mint. But the car is a looker from the 80's get a lot of compliments and the I have not seen one of those before. The convertible is rare and has no rips or tears in it. The boot is also in great condition just like the convertible top. The rear window is not fogged up and is clear. With a little TLC it would be a great show car and you can pull up to a Firebird and the judge might even say, what a rare car. The car does have a clean car fax with no previous accidents or issues and does qualify for the Carfax buy back guarantee. So please feel free to stop by and take it for a drive, you will not be disappointed. I would not hesitate driving the car long distances. Oh ya the important part. I hate to tell you that the car does not come with a warranty as it expired around 30 years ago. I know shocker no warranty. But you might be able to answer one of those telemarketers and ask if the have a warranty for a 1985. They might hang up on you. LOL
So please feel free to ask for additional photo's and any questions. Please stop by and look at the vehicle, I put it in for a very reasonable buy it now for what the car is, saving you the collector car consignment price of probably 5k, I don't know where they come up with those prices, or you can bid away and see if you end up winning the bid. Thank you for looking.
