Car description |
---|
This Indy Fiero Pace Car is #548 of a 2000 car production run, and 1 of only 250 4-speed manual cars ever made! Fresh paint shows well, not a $10k paint job, but not too bad. There are a few blemishes here and there, of course.
-Recent Engine Rebuild.
-Stainless Exhaust with Stainless Tips.
-New headliner and rebuilt sun visors.
-Complete Tune Up.
-AC Compressor replaced with upgraded pressure switches.
-All worn weatherstripping was replaced. Serviceable weatherstripping was left in place. Sunroof and windows do not leak.
-Synthetic oil change.
-New Radiator and coolant flush.
Things I know need attention:
-The dash switch to open the decklid doesn't work. You have to use the key.
-Horn.
-Damage to the dash vinyl near the drivers side left AC vent, visible in photos. I do have an abs plastic cover to mask it, not installed.
-Tires have great tread life, but are old and showing some signs of cracking.
Floor mats are custom rubber mats from Lloyds. Seats were redone in the proper grey leather and the original red Indy logo cloth was retained, but without the traditional speaker holes in the head rests. The decklid is from a newer car. Original decklid is damaged but could possibly be repaired. I still have the decklid with the original vent and block off plates if you want to put it back to factory for 1984. Since this was one of the causes of the "Fiero Fires" due to leaves falling through the vent and smoldering on the exhaust manifold, I thought it best to upgrade to the newer decklid.
This car seriously turns heads. I live in a small Florida waterfront town where Lambo's and Ferrari's are pretty common place. People ogle over this Indy. Speeding up or slowing down to stay with me, thumbs up and huge smiles from everyone that see's it. Just letting it sit outside of the garage for a little while gets drivers stopping their cars to take a closer look. Honestly, it's a very cool little car.
It was basically a barn find. There were a few things that were done in an attempt to restore by the previous owner, but largely it just sat. I felt the need to save this very rare car. I promised my wife that when it was complete I'd sell it. Unfortunately, it's pretty much done and here I am.
Any questions, please feel free to ask. This will make somebody a great little weekend car. With a new set of tires I'd feel very confident in driving this car cross country.
It runs and drives great!
