Car description

1984 Pontiac Fiero Indy 500 Pace Car edition.

Overall a very good car that is complete. It runs and drives, the engine and transmission are in good condition, but the car really does need to be restored. The fact that it is one of about 2000 pace cars made, makes it a perfect candidate worthy of being restored. While it runs and drives it does need some to TLC to really be considered reliable transportation.

When I got this car, it had been sitting for close to 10 years and was not running or driving. I have replaced the fuel pump and throttle cable and bled the brakes.
I'll try to describe both the good and the bad on this and make note of any known issues.

The Good:
The body is in very good shape, there are no cracks in any of the panels that you typically see on these cars.
It is very complete and not missing items, it has the spare tire, jack, sunroof deflector etc.The carpet is in excellent condition, no rips or tears. The car starts, runs and drives.
The Bad:
Typical wear on both seats, the side leather is worn out as you can see in the pictures. The top surface paint is in pretty rough shape and will need to be repainted. Some electrical items do not work, door locks, power mirrors etc. I have not spent any time diagnosing the issues. There is evidence the previous owner repaired some of the electrical harness in the engine compartment. Everything appears to be functioning, but to be totally stock, I would replace the engine harness with a stock one.
The previous owner caulked around the sunroof, I suspect because the weather strip was leaking. The sunroof does NOT leak as it sits, but you cannot open it because of the sealant. The weather strip will need to be replace on the sunroof.
