Car description

Here we have a very nice 64 Pontiac GTO, in Gulf Stream Aqua, inside and out. I'm listing this for a friend that is looking to thin out his collection. He's owned this car for 28 years. It has always been garaged and only used for shows and to exercise it. When he bought the car it was repainted, and it has held up quite well after all this time. The white top is decent and usable, but by no means perfect. You can get in this car and ride off into the sunset, needs nothing and it has always been impeccably maintained. Here's what I know about the car:

75% Unrestored - 100% Correct!

Original Order Slip (dated Jan. 1964)

Original Window Sticker (dated Aug. 1964)

Original Protectoplate

Original Owners Manual

Original Registration

Featured in Thomas DeMauro's Restoration Guide

Original 389 Matching Numbers Engine

Tri-Power Installed (Original 4BBl. Carb & Manifold Included in sale)

Deluxe Wooden Optional Steering Wheel

Optional Exhaust Splitters

Rare Remote Fender Mirror

Full Optional Console

Deluxe Original Wheelcovers

Original Shifter & Linkage

Original Transmission

Optional, Original Dash Pad (this is next to the impossible!)

Good Luck Finding Another One of These, This Nice and This Well Taken Care Of!

I realize there's not many pictures provided, and the quality could always be better. That's why it's incumbent on potential buyers to Please Ask Questions. We really encourage anyone interested to come look at the car. Of course, this for the most part is easier said than done. Please do not bid unless you are absolutely confident that you will be happy with your purchase. I will make every possible effort to make it so.

I asked my friend about what's the undercarriage like, and if there has been any panel replacements, or patching done. He assures me that there has been no rework of this type. However, I cannot guarantee this. I also cannot guarantee that there's no collision or other body repairs, as well if there's any plastic filler applied. That's why I empasize buyer inspection.

Upon sale deposit the buyer will have (1) week to inspect, or have the vehicle inspected by themselves, or agent. We will supply a lift for undercarriage inspection. Inspection will be by appointment only.

Additional information added by owner:

What is so unique about this car is it's perfect mix of originality and necessary

Maintenance and restoration.

Along with the above, the written documation which has travelled through history

Is very rarely available to complement the presentation of a car of this quality!

Let's go through the documentation and the special features and the originality

That this car possesses.

Historically, the first document we see is the actual ORDER SLIP which the

Purchaser filled out checking off those features he desired. This is dated some eight months prior to delivery of this car to the purchaser. Next, the original Purchase

Invoice is included dated in August of 1964. This is sometime called the window

Sticker. Next we have the original Protectoplate and owners manual delivered to the original purchaser. It is almost as if we were there at the sale of this car!

To confirm that this is a real GT, a copy of the full PHS is provided which confirms

The build and options which are this car.

Additional documentation includes a copy of the original title for this car.

By way of correctness, Thomas DeMauro featured this car in his Restoration Guide

As an example of 1964 features.

In looking at the few maintenance and restoration items, this car was beautifully

Given a repainted in its original Gulf Stream Aqua in 1989 and still looks as new.

The matching number motor was rebuilt at 109,000 miles at which time the

Legendary tri-power carb application was added. However the original four

Barrel, intake and air cleaner does accompany the car.

The rarest option that this car possesses is the very rarely ordered remote

Drivers fender mirror, probably as rare as air conditioning. Another few rare options

Include the exhaust " splitters, the finished wood steering wheel and the

Padded dash which is original and has no cracks.

This car features an original interior and, believe it or not, an ORIGINAL BOOT

For the convertible top. The original Aqua interior offsets the exterior beautifully.

All of the glass is original and the convertible top is presentable but could be

Replaced at the purchaser's option.

All of the trim is original.

I have owned this car for some 28 years, and although I would never be able to replace this car, it has come time to begin to thin my collection. I would urge any serious

Purchaser to have this car professionally inspected which will highlight the incredible rarity of the originality and tightness presented herein.
