Car description |
---|
1969 Pontiac GTO ConvertibleI am the second steward of this car, I purchased it from a retired "Snowbird" couple that spent winters in Florida and Summers in the Northeast. They purchased the GTO new in Pensacola, FL, and. kept it in a garage down there for decades as their winter car.
Accumulating some 43,000 miles on it, in exemplary original condition aside from a older, albeit high quality repaint about 15 years ago, the car was completely original and highly documented.
The car is loaded up with factory options per PHSTH-400 Automatic TransmissionHideaway HeadlampsRally Gauge ClusterPower Disc BrakesRide and Handling PackageTrunk LightH/D Air CleanerAM/FM RadioVisor MirrorConsolePower SteeringTinted Windshield (Soft Ray)Heavy Duty BatteryFloor MatsSticker Price: $4329.92
So, without getting into a drawn out dissertation on the car, I'll try and abridge my description as much as I can. This car is a true "solid" Survivor car with enough restoration to defray 50 years of age. The interior is 100% original and in truly excellent condition, surely commensurate with the low original miles. The convertible top is original to the car and while it is serviceable...it is 50 years old, and it's one of those items I appreciate because it is original to the car, some may choose to replace it. The top does not leak, but the vinyl is 50 years old, and shows some age.
The exterior is very straight, solid, and highly presentable. The car had one high quality repaint in the original "Warwick Blue" color and the car shows excellent.
If I could sell this car on how it drove, it'd surely bring far more money! These original, well kept, unabused cars drive a certain way. I've owned 100 GTO Convertibles (literally) and very, very few drive this well. No shakes, rattles, etc. the power disc brakes and power steering make the car easy for anyone to drive. Beware, the car has the correct 350hp YS Code 400 and a factory 3.55 gear, and will lay rubber for blocks if you want it to.
The thing that bothered me about this car was...it was all very, and even though it ran like I dream, I've owned many original cars, and they just become less reliable with age. Leaking gaskets, dried out valve seals, exhaust leaks, etc. So, I spent the money and literally had the car completely gone through, every seal and gasket replaced, hardened valve seats installed for todays crappy gasoline...any suspension part that was suspect was replaced.
So, what we have is a excellent pedigreed fully documented car, where everything has been gone through insofar as to assure drama free driving. Nothing was done "half baked" on this car. I like everything to work, and work properly, so countless hours was spent on this car to "dial it in".
The attention to factory detail is very evident on this car. This is a "hop in and turn the key" muscle car...with all the right stuff.
I'm a terrible salesman, collecting GTO's has been a longtime hobby of mine and I'd like to think I am highly knowledgable when it comes to these cars. They say, you get what you pay for...this is a steal at $32,500 or reasonable offer...excellent car with excellent options!
This car is for sale on other venues and auction may be ended at anytime. Please, take a look at my feedback, I don't own junk, sell junk, misrepresent junk, etc.
This is from my personal collection and I have free and clear title. I'm happy to assist with shipping insofar as I have a central dispatch account and can get this car from me to you, anywhere in the Country in a few days.
The PHS is provided for your convenience. You can reach me anytime at 630 273 7595...lets talk about it!
Fine Print...I'm a handshake kind of guy, but...in this day in age!Car is sold in As-Is condition. It is up to the buyer to have inspected the vehicle to his/her. satisfaction and bid on that judgement solely. Description is foridentification purposes only and is not to beconstrued as any type of warranty. No set aside will be made on account of any defect therein.
