*THE RIMS AND TIRES THAT COME WITH THE CAR ARE THE 15 IN TORQUE THRUST, NOT THE 17's THAT ARE IN SOME OF THE PICS....NO TRADES OR OFFERS,THANKS !
I bought this car last year to build a Trans Am clone but just haven't got the time to do so, so the car has to go as I have another Firebird already anyway. The Trans Am parts I was going to use are listed in separate auctions if you are interested. I bought the car out of San Diego,CA and the previous owner purchased it out of Los Angeles,CA in 2002, the paper work I have on the car says the motor was rebuilt in late 2006 at 62,445 miles and at the moment the car shows 77,720 so right now just over 15,250 on the rebuild. This car has the 400 motor not the 350 like most Esprit Firebirds, R in the V.I.N. is for the 2bbl 400 motor. I haven't had the time to do much to the car, I had a new intake, rebuilt Q-Jet, Powermaster starter and Hotchkis front lowering springs professionally installed. I also installed the correct dash plate but have another one for the car because there is a temp and oil pressure gauges behind the current dash plate.
The paint is very nice though there are chips here and there, the previous owner gave me tons of receipts and a hand written one she gave me showing payments to the body shop for paint and to re-chrome the bumper total over 8 grand, don't expect perfection, though I did buy the car because of the originality and condition of the body. The car has new tail-light lenses and bezels and side markers. The glass is very nice without the usual scratches up the sides on the door glass. The dash has a few hairline cracks close to the air vents and one small one on top that you would have to point out to most people and the console has a power window switch stuck in it which is useless. The previous owner also recovered the seats with a correct style cover but in a lighter color, there is a small L shaped tear in the drivers side seat. The endura nose has had some minor damage at some point and the passenger-side headlight bezel does not fit correctly.
The engine runs great and transmission shifts as it should, the car stayed cool on hot days here in the desert last year driving it across town and the stereo works also. The car does drip like any old car, just seems to be the transmission but it is something that should be taken care of and since the car has been sitting for a while..... Horn does not work, I will include the original Firebird steering wheel. The pin stripe is under the clear coat. The rims are pitted from being near the coast. The tires that came with the car are older BF Goodrich and SHOULD BE REPLACED. Clear title in hand. This car had been a reliable daily driver without any issues and is also a nice solid almost factory correct car, would make a great T/A or SD Formula clone.
