We sell all cars as-is, which means the buyer is responsible for any and all repairs, according to the Ohio Buyer’s Guide. Remember: it’s the buyer’s responsibility to inspect the car before bidding. When you view the pictures of the vehicle, make sure you look at them on a large screen to ensure that you can see all attributes of the car. Good luck to all bidders.
Mechanically, it starts, runs and drives 100%. It has newer tires on it, including the spare. It has all brand new brakes on it, front and rear. It has been recently tuned up, including the new coil and the original generator that's still in the trunk if you decide to put it back to an original voltage. You can get in this car and drive it anywhere you want to in the country. This car has a 4 speed automatic transmission, which means it shifts three times. It also has power steering and power brakes, which makes it very easy to drive. You need to start the car in neutral and then put it in the gear you need to. When you stop you turn the car off and put it in reverse because reverse now is also park. This is the way the factory built the car in 1956 and it works like a glove.
It steers straight, and the exhaust has a bit of a "ting" in the sound, which is good. All options on this car work correctly, including the lights (high and low), turn signals, brake lights, horn and the wipers which were converted to electric. All windows work correctly and so do the vents. All the keys work on the car, inside and out. The engine on this car and transmission run and drive like new, and we see no leaks. It still has the marking on the firewall of the car that was put there when it was built new. The number can be seen on the firewall. The hood opens up easily because one control controls both locks, the main lock and the safety lock. The car has a newer AM/FM radio which works perfectly, but the factory radio also works if you hook the antenna up to that radio instead of the one on the bottom of the dash.
The interior, which is in beautiful condition, is 100% original. This includes the paint on the dash, all the knobs, and the flooring. Twenty years ago when the car was redone they replaced the headliner and the visors were recovered. I took many pictures of the interior, which may also beseen in the Flickr. The trunk is 100% solid. It's amazing how nice the trunk really does look. The motor compartment is really really clean for a 61 year old car, and there is a switch for an extra fan by the radiator which can be used in parades when you're not really driving the car very fast to keep the temperature gauge down. So you may never need to use it, but if you do, it's there for you.
Now, the best part about the car is the body condition. It's a really beautiful two tone, white with light blue. It's sitting with all the original chrome and aluminum on the vehicle. I took so many pictures of the body of the car from every angle. I took pictures of the body in the sun, the shade and under lights in a garage. So no matter where you would have this car, you have an idea of what it would look like.
This car certaintyattracts a lot of attention. So if you're looking to purchase this car, try to stop by and check out, If not, please pay carefulattention to all the pictures. I'd also like to mention that there's no cracks on any of the glass. This car is the type of car that you'd see in a car show that's not for sale. But when this car ends in 7 days, you'd have a fair chance to be the high bidder, put it in your garage, and you can look at it every single day. It was appraised for 24,000.00 last year for insurance purpose.
