Car description |
---|
This is a rare and interesting example of a 1961 Pontiac Bonneville convertible that came from the factory with 389 engine, Three 2 barrel carburetors, manual four speed transmission with bench seats. The care ran well when I bought it and I repaired one rusted brake line to make it drive-able. When I purchased the car it had a 4 barrel carb and intake set-up, but I have replaced it with a correct, though not the original 3 two barrel carb set up. Currently I have not installed new intake gaskets or attached the set up to the engine. The car also has an original style factory 3 2 barrel air cleaner as shown in the pictures. The car needs floor pans, some new are included. It will need some other body work, a complete new interior and top. The original convertible top was also green. I have a PHS (Pontiac Historical Society) document package that includes copies of the build manifest. There were 1335 Bonnevilles built with the 318 HP 389 engine and manual 4 speed with 3 2 barrel carburetors. That includes all body styles, so the convertible model production is much fewer.
While not fitted from the factory, I do have a set of 8 lug Pontiac wheels that will go with the car if you use the "Buy It Now" price. If that price is not reached, I will make the wheels available to the winner for and additional cost, if they are interested.
The car needs full restoration, but it is a rare and highly desirable and looks great.
There is currently a similar car up for sale on Ebay, in a different color combination, and completely restored. The item is
132136496607 and is listed for $62,500.
Transport is responsibility of the buyer.

A person asked about one of the pictures I have posted that shows an automatic dash and steering column. That picture was added incorrectly, it is not from this car. The picture of the total width of the dash is correct. Sorry for the mistake.
