Car description |
---|
A complete ground up restoration has been performed on this rare 2+2 convertible Catalina. This black on black beauty is a California, low mileage survivor with only 41,612 miles.
Let's talk numbers and ponder over just how rare a convertible 2+2 really is. In 1966, 247,927 Catalina's were built with 6,382 being 2+2's. Now, factor in a convertible top option and only 2,208 were built.
We see a plethora of Impalas, Cadillacs and Buicks at the local shows, but it's not every day a convertible Catalina makes an appearance. Then pop the hood to find a 421cu in power house putting out 338hp and 459ft lb of torque. Now you have a conversation piece instead of just a different color Chevelle from the guy three cars over.
Before the overhaul, this Catalina was a solid survivor and mostly needed a minor makeover. Below is a list of some of the improvements.
Motor & Drivetrain:
Suspension:
Paint/Body:
Interior:
Buy with confidence knowing that nearly all of these improvements have been made over the last year and a half. Plus it's always reassuring to purchase a classic car knowing the previous owner addressed any/all mechanical issues. This Pontiac runs and drives like new and attracts tons of attention rolling down the highway.
Inspections and test drives are always encouraged, so feel free to message me with any questions or to make an appointment to inspect the car.
