A frame off restoration has just been completed on this beautiful Viper Red 1968 GTO. The engine is a non numbers matching 1970 Pontiac XX code 400 with the desirable 1967 670 heads and Holley intake manifold. It had been recently rebuilt when I bought it. I do not know the specs but it starts and runs great. The 4 barrel Quadrajet carb was rebuilt, EI ignition was added and it has new plugs and wires. The radiator was replaced with a new aluminum radiator. The non numbers matching TH400 transmission was also rebuilt. The car has the correct Hurst His/Hers shifter on the floor. The car was taken off the frame and stripped to bare metal. Any rust was removed and new metal fills the holes. The frame was in great shape and only required cleaning and painting, new prebent brake and fuel lines were installed along with new dual exhaust, nd new suspension and steering components. The 4 wheel drum brake system is all new from the power brake booster to the drums. 15" Pontiac Rally II wheels and new 225/60/15 tires were added. The base/clear Viper Red paint really shines. All body mounts and weatherstripping were replaced. The interior has new door panels, arpet and headliner, nd the seats were rebuilt as required. Practically every part on this car has been replaced or rebuilt. There are a few scratches on the glass and the trim around the front and rear windows have few small dents. I left the radio choice up to you (there is no radio)! Clock does not work.I have this listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction if it sells before the reserve is met.
