1968 GTO Tired of seeing orange, ed, lack, etallic blue, tc, n so many classic cars? How about a crisp, lean white muscle car with a beautifully accented black vinyl roof, riginal wheels and all the badging that makes this car standout in a sea of cookie cutter cruisers. Few car makers can boast brand recognition like the GTO which has been so brilliantly marketed for the last 50 years. This car started life as a Pontiac Lemans with factory bucket seats and console. Resurrected as a GTO look alike, t would take a well heeled Pontiac expert to tell the difference. Still has plenty of pep under the hood with an original 350 cubic inch engine with plenty of high compression horsepower. Power transfers to the rear wheels via a bulletproof and reliable power glide transmission. Driveline works flawlessly with only a very slight rocker arm tick. Pretty good for a 50 year old....Has an added heat and AC unit added which blows ice cold in summer and toasty warm in the winter. Under the hood it sports an OEM AC compressor with clean looking hose connections passing through an equally clean smooth firewall where the big AC suitcase used to hang. Body has been recently painted and looks great. Appears to be a rust free car with solid floors as shown in pics. The 1968 make ready guy went a little wild with the undercoat gun as they were prone to do back in the day but maybe that is what saved the undercarriage from the rust worms. No undercoat has been added to show the solid sheet metal but the undercarriage was pressure washed and painted with chassis black paint.Interior is not new but definitely above average and shows very well. Driver seat upholstery is new along with a new headliner, indow felts and weatherstrips. The console and console lid are also new.All 4 shock absorbers, ll 4 ball joints and upper and lower A-frame bushings have been replaced. Wheels are original Pontiac wheels which have been sand blasted and repainted with new center caps and new 15 inch tires. Brakes have been redone with a new master cylinder, ll brake shoes, heel cylinders and machined drums. Power brakes and all new parts make this baby stop straight and true with no pull and they feel every bit a good as factory disc brakes.Dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers exit through a set of chrome tips for an awesome rumble outside and a reasonable level inside the car.Nice to know stuff: all electric stuff works except the radio and clock. Blinkers, eadlights, as gauge, ipers, ven the horn work correctly. Dome light bulb is removed in pics but the dome light works. Title is clear blue Texas title. Car drives straight and stops straight. Doors seal up nice as these models do because the windows are surrounded by a window frame. Speedometer works nice and smooth but shows 5 mph fast. Is power steering and power brake equipped. Drove this car on a 500 mile round trip with no problems. Otherwise, ave driven it locally with no issues. The VIN number may not say it's a GTO but the up side of that means you can own one for a fraction of the cost. Always wanted to own a real American musclecar? This hobby is good, lean family fun. Don't sit on the sidelines any more. Do it. Don't know much history on the car. The body work was complete when I bought the car so it was painted and I did the mechanical items listed in the ad. Not a new car but a nice car anyone would be proud to drive. Six figure trailer queens are in other ads if that is what you are looking for. Anyone with a feedback rating under 5 must contact me before bidding.
