1976 Plymouth Duster 440
You are viewing a very nice restored Duster. A nice survivor to begin with that was in good condition with low miles and little to no rust. Owned 8 years and finish 7 years ago with 6K miles driven since finished. Runs strong
Please read on for more particulars of the car:
Body/Paint: The body is all original steel with very little body repair. Minimal body work done with many coats of primer, blocked between coats. The paint is base/clear close to the original color and looks excellent. Color sanded and is very flat. The body and paint is super nice on this car and very straight.
Interior: Much of the interior is original. Headliner, package shelf and carpet was replaced. The rest is original. Upgraded gauge cluster with all the vitals. Weather stripping is replaced, PS and PB.
Running Gear: The car came with a slant 6 cylinder. Replace with a vintage 440 completely rebuilt. 30 over with bumped up cam approximately 450 HP with upgraded heads. Dual quad intake with Edelbrock 600 cfm carbs. Factory electronic ignition, electric puller fan, upgraded 4 core radiator. Rebuilt 727 automatic with shift kit. 8 ¾ Dana rear end with 323 gears, posi. The car pulls and runs strong.
Suspension: Stock suspension restored in great condition.
Glass: All original in good condition.
Exhaust: Aftermarket factory style headers with 2.5 inch pipes with Flow Master style mufflers. The car sound really good as it should.
Brakes: Power disc brakes with drum rears.
Brite work: Bumpers rechromed with rear bezel and tail lights replaced. A few other items like door handles original in good overall condition. All very presentable.
Wheels/Tires: 5 spoke Americans with polished rims. Mickey Thompson Sportsman SR tires front 26X 8/15s and 26 X 10/15s rear.
Summary: A very nice running and driving car. Very tight and drives excellent. High end driver with lots of nice originality with performance added to provide a better overall performance experience. These cars are loads of fun and better with some performance that was lacking in 76. I have over 100 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures. Reasonable price. Great value and a quality car for the money.
