I have beeninvolved in the restoration of 3 63 and 64 sport fury convertibles one of them was a 45000 mile california car and none of them was as solid as this car and the 63 and 64 shown sold at mecum auction for $55.000 each. I have had this car in my shop for 8 years and it has always got pushed back because of other customer work. I am 73 now and semi retired but I would be interested in building it for some one if they really wanted it nice. We have a 600 HP 496 CI wedge with a original stage 3 1964 cross ram intake with original 3705 cartercarburetors availablefor it at extra cost. I would be surprised if you could find a more solid 64 Plymouth convertible any where. It gets real expensive when you have to start replacing trunk floors, floor boards, frame rails, and old collision damage and none of that is needed on this car. The car has been repainted once and as I have found out that can hid a lot of damage so I went over the car with a bondo detector. I will start with left front fender and go around car. Left fender has a one inch rust hole on the bottom, left door no proble, left rear QT panel about a 6 inch area of bondo just behind the upperpart of wheel well, no damage on rear panel or trunk lid, right rear qt panel about a foot long area where one of my employees ran a fork lift into it and a little 5 inch spot of bondo behind right door mid way up on QT panel, right door has no problems, right front fender has some bondo just above the front part of wheel opening. the trunk floor has a few pin holes but it would be a easy fix.For a 55 year old car this is as good as it gets. After the car is striped I think a good body man could have all the body work done in 1 week. The convertible top assembly is in excellentconditionwe have all new hydraulics that go with car.All parts shown in pictures go with car. The car was originally a 318 with a 3 speed standard on the column and still has the clutch pedal assy, we were going to make it a max wedge clone with a 4 speed. The seats and door panels are all new Legendary with new foam in seats. I have automatic and 4 speed consoles. I also have a rebuilt torque flite I would let go with it for $200 .All the side glass is good and I have a new windshield that I may let go with it.AS far as I know the only piecemissing on this car is a 1 inch stainless piece between the left and right mouldings behind the convertible top. There is so much available for these old cars now the sky is the limit. If you upgrade the chassis and suspension you can make it drive and handle like a new car but its cheaper to put it all back stock. the 63 I built was all stock and I changed every thing on the 64 and there was no comparison in the way they drove and handled. The 63 had a 665 HP wedge and the 64 had a 676 HP hemi but they sold for the same amount of money. If the 63 had good traction it would have buckled the car in the middle. On the 64 I built sub frame connectors and it made a world of difference and it had 10 inch street drag radials on it. They both had 3.55 rear gears and the person that bought the 63 was a Chevy guy but said it was the fastest car he ever drove from 60 MPH up and that'sabout where it got traction with BFG radials. The 64 was a rocket but low gear was still useless. I have built a lot of 600+HP cars and in low you couldn't get it to the ground on the street even with 18 inch tires. I was washing cars in a Plymouth dealership in 64 when the first 64 Sport Fury rolled in and have loved them ever since. I hope who ever buys this makes it nice. Good Luck Jim Ballenger
