AACA Preservation award winning 1941 Plymouth De Luxe 4 door sedan. Also Plymouth Club Mayflower Award, May other trophies
This Plymouth had a complete frame off restoration in the late 1980's by the second owner, he passed away in 2017 and I purchased the car from his estate in the fall of 2018. The car has never seen rain according to the daughter until I got caught in a shower on the way home. The underside is perfect, I bought the car to drive (I have several other nice drivers), but when I got it home I realized I couldn't use it as a driver, it's too nice.
Original engine, everything works except the speedometer. Odometer shows 71132. I understand the car was trailered most everywhere, however it starts right up and drives like 1941, All the gauges work, heater, all lights including fog. The wipers are very slow at idle, but they probably haven't been turned on in 30 years. It also has fender skirts that are not on the car.
So stock it doesn't have turn signals or seatbelts. Look at the pictures, one very small imperfection in the front seat drivers back rest.
The woodgrain was restored beautifully, the upholstery is original style as is the carpeting, Glass is beautiful, all windows go up and down like they did when the car was new, the doors open and close the same way. This car really needs to be in a museum (I think it may have been, see the picture).
When I bought it in South Carolina, they used the motor number on the title as the vin, the real vin on the plate was not referenced, so North Carolina had to assign a new number, that, NCS100319 is what is on the title. The car in plate is 15095593 which corresponds to a 1941 De Luxe built in the US.
