The item up for sale is a 1940 Plymouth Road King Business Coupe. It has been in my family since 1976. My oldest brother got it for his 16th birthday and has since gone to my other brother, then to my Dad and then to me. It has a 283 Chevy engine with a Muncie 4spd. The engine has solid lifters and probably higher compression. Back in the 80s, my brother had a tunnel ram on it with 2 600cfm Holley carburetors on it and it ran really well. It wasn't too much carbs for it so I'd say it's a higher compression engine. The transmission is a Muncie 4spd that has always shifted well. Since 1976 it has pretty much been in the garage at all times and has been sitting in my garage since I got it in 1998. The paint that's on it is lacquer (painted in the early 80s) and it is peeling many different places and would need to be repainted. It does have some surface rust here and there. As you can see in the pictures, the floor and body are in good condition, especially good for an almost 80 year old car. It would need some work but not like most cars. I'm sure the brakes need to be gone over and it probably would need a master cylinder from sitting. The radiator would need some attention, also. There is no interior other than what is pictured. The rear-end is from a 57 Chevy. The rear wheels and tires (8" and 235/70/15) are brand new and the fronts were bought used at a swap meet. ATTENTION: I will not ship this car. You can set up the shipping yourself and I will work with them for them to pick it up, etc., but I will not set up the shipping. The car will have to be paid for beforehand if a third party is picking it up. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks for looking and please take a look at my other items.
