Car description |
---|
This Fury is an excellent, rust free, and rare car. The body is straight, the paint is very good, indicating 1 repaint with a few chips which have been touched up with a brush. The bumpers are excellent and the body side moldings are very good with just a few minor door dings. The carpet is excellent and the upholstery is very good, showing some wear but no rips or tears. I replaced the convertible top, pump, top boot, and top well last year. The 318 C.I. Poly engine starts and runs perfectly and the pushbutton Torqueflite trans operates and shifts as it should. The rarity, according to some MOPAR experts, is in the option list. Factory options include:
Power Steering,Power brakes,Power windows,Power front seat, Dealer installed Chrysler “Cool Air” air conditioning (not currently installed but all components will be included),Bumper guards
The car’s history is also interesting. The original delivery acceptance certificate shows the car was delivered to a lady in Stockton Ca. in Oct. 1964. A Ca. registration renewal receipt from 2002 shows the car’s owner to still be the lady that took new delivery, still living at the same address. A Midas Muffler invoice included in the paperwork indicates the car had accumulated less than 14,000 miles by 1985. The current odometer reading is approx. 38,500 mi. and, though I don’t have evidence to prove this is actual, the odometer works, and the overall operational condition and appearance of this Fury leads me to believe it may be. Other than 1 repaint and possibly new seat covers at some point, there doesn’t appear to have been any restoration of the car. The door and panel gaps are uniform and narrow. The windows all go up and down but operate somewhat slowly. The car drives great. I drove it from Oregon to Texas year with no issues. Documentation includes the previously mentioned items, original owner’s manual, owner’s “Certicard”, and A/C owner’s manual. I just have too many cars so something has to go.
