Pro-Built Car

To the casual car fan, this one makes absolutely no sense. To a hard core fan, it is a thing of beauty. A high end mix of rare sheet metal, engineered custom suspension and plenty of patina. This is a professionally built car, done by a designer/fabricator in Moses Lake, WA. This builder specializes in hard core Rat Rods. Using a combination of old school parts and modern suspension technology this rat seems the two perfectly.

The body on this build is a '31 Plymouth 4 door sedan. To go into all of the custom upgrades would take volumes. The combination of the chopped top, custom door hinges, cowl access panels & plenty of rivets give it a look of its own.

The suspension is probably the biggest give away that this isn't your normal rat. With an extended wheel base, heim-jointed arms, watts-link and coil over shocks this rat actually drives nicely by rat rod standards. Out back the 10-bolt differential is suspended by a 4-link with coil-over shocks. The brakes have been upgraded with discs on the front. The steering box is a brand new Flaming River unit. Looking at the car you are really surprised by how well the car drives.

The engine is a Mexican built crate engine. It is mild with an aluminum intake manifold, Holley Carburetor and HEI ignition. The crate versions were rated at 260 horsepower. It has headers leading to straight (well there are no mufflers) pipes. It isn't too loud on idle, but when you hit the throttle people know it. You really don't need much to power around this light set up so the car has plenty of power. The engine fires up incredibly easy and has a very healthy note to the throttle.

The 4 speed transmission is shifted by a Rat Fink style shift handle. The transmission shifts easily and looks good right next to your leg. No need to jack this one up to inspect or adjust shift linkage.

Inside the interior the custom touches are never ending. Every time you get in you see something new. My personal favorite is the cigarette dispenser, no kidding, and this just barely beat out the tap for the Jack Daniels. If you want comforts beyond those, this one aint for you.
