Car description

I am selling my '70 Cuda AAR that I bought from the original owner in the summer 2016. This car is not perfect, but it is a very solid, straight, pure AAR Cuda. The owner was relocating to a retirement complex in Georgia from Pennsylvania and had no inside storage option to store the car. I purchased it thinking I'd hold onto it long-term, but family obligations need to take precedence. According to the original owner, this AAR was purchased new in Idaho and has resided in other states including Hawaii, South Carolina, and Florida while he served his country in the Navy. The car was repainted (presentable, not awesome) and restriped in the early 1980's after the car was lightly side swiped on the right side; the passenger side door mirror was never replaced. The car is pretty much untouched other than typical replacement of maintenance parts, and at some point, the original transmission was replaced when it went bad.
This AAR Cuda is a column-shift automatic, bench seat with rally dash and wheels, power brakes (no power steering), and the VIN matches on the rad support, cowl, dash, and engine. I have not checked the rear end, but I was told the only number that didn't match was the transmission. The car wears its fender tags and also has a nearly perfect buildsheet. Although the car is structurally sound, there are a couple of issues - the trunk floor was glassed in the center to cover some minimal pinholes. The undercarriage has surface rust, and there is some minor bubbling starting around the rear wheel well, but the frame rails, floors, trunk extensions, firewall, etc are in great condition. The body has some dings on it - the trunk lid has some small dents, and there is an area on the driver's side door and quarter panel where the car was tapped numerous times by the owner's daily driving car when the children would throw the door open. Since the Cuda sat underneath a cover in the garage with little to no attention for a few years, it wasn't discovered until the cover was eventually taken off that the car suffered this damage. The original hood has a couple of repairs on the bottom side.
The car runs and drives, but it needs to be dialed in. I had the carbs rebuilt, and I put them back on the car. It acts like it has a vacuum leak, and I just haven't had the time to deal with working on it again. I also replaced the ballast resistor, plugs, wires, rubber fuel lines and filter, fuel tank, sending unit, and a few other odds and ends. The interior panels are chalky, and the driver's window doesn't roll down very easily. All other windows function well. The dash is cracked as well.
I've tried to represent this car honestly, and after reading it, I feel like I have been a bit too harsh on her. It actually is a very nice car, but I want any interested people to understand the car needs some work to look like other AAR Cudas on here. This car is unique because it is a very straight, solid AAR Cuda. It has not been restored, and when you take that into consideration, this car is in excellent shape. With little work, this car can be an excellent cruiser, or with unlimited financial resources, you could have a 2-owner AAR Cuda trailer queen! Endless possibilities, but this is an awesome car to enjoy at any level. It has some pretty cool memorabilia with it including an old AAR patch, old pictures and registrations (one from '74 in hawaii), and some old Trans Am Association papers. The car also has a new exhaust system (not installed) and a new stripe kit (even though the stripes on it are fine).
If interested, feel free to ask questions or request more pictures. International bidders are considered, but please contact me first. If the car sells, buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, etc. Thanks for looking at my auction.
